Position Description
: The part-time Janitor (5 hours per week) keeps office buildings, meeting areas, and other areas clean and in orderly condition.


Responsibilities:

  • Sweeps and mops kitchen, meal areas, bathrooms, and classrooms.
  • Vacuums carpets and mats in office spaces and classrooms.
  • Dusts equipment, file cabinets, blinds, picture frames, front desk area, file trays, windowsills and other areas.
  • Wipes down appliances as appropriate.
  • Cleans bathroom floors, sinks and toilets and replaces paper towels, soap and toilet paper.
  • Empties garbage containers and paper shredders.
  • Cleans spills, marks, and soil from walls as needed.
  • Sanitizes tables, chairs, children’s toys and furniture, counter tops, and changing tables.
  • Disinfects door handles, light switches, phone receivers, and refrigerator handles.
  • Assure all outlets have safety plugs at all times.
  • Cleans entry door windows and one-way windows including children’s mirrors.
  • Notifies management concerning need for repairs and janitorial supplies.
  • Posts schedule on a weekly basis and completes daily timecard.
  • Fulfills other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three months related experience or training.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and interact positively and constructively with staff, children, and families.

Note: A state and federal background screen will be completed for all newly hired employees.
