About the Role:

As a Union Janitor at Caravan Facilities Management Corp, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all occupants and visitors. Your efforts will directly contribute to the overall health and safety standards of the facility, ensuring compliance with union guidelines and company policies. This position requires attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality cleaning and maintenance tasks across various areas of the property. You will collaborate closely with other team members and supervisors to uphold the standards expected by both the union and the company. Ultimately, your work will support the smooth operation of the facility and enhance the experience of everyone who uses the space.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations related to janitorial work.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.
  • Certification in occupational safety or cleaning best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal in designated areas.
  • Maintain restrooms by replenishing supplies, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring cleanliness at all times.
  • Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, following all safety protocols and union regulations.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Adhere to the union’s work rules and schedules, participating in team meetings and training sessions as required.
