Janitor - 2nd Shift

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Janitor - 2nd Shift to join our team in Rumford, RI!

The core hours are 3 pm - 11 pm.

The hourly rate for this position is $21.38 per hour + $0.60 per hour shift premium.
This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

Perform duties prescribed in the daily and monthly schedules and procedures. Complete the daily check sheet and turn into your supervisor. Perform snow removal and sanding of walks as required. Water lawn in spring and summer. Perform related miscellaneous duties as required.Report troubles, hazards or unusual conditions to supervisor. Maintain work area, equipment, supplies, and tools in clean,orderly, safe and habitual condition. Maintain the 55 standard throughout the facility. Observe safety precautions, company rulesand regulations.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform a variety of routine housekeeping and janitorial duties as assigned.
  • Production Area Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors (including using floor buffers), wiping down machinery, cleaning windows/partitions, and dusting production equipment.
  • Sanitation & Hygiene: Cleaning and restocking restrooms, kitchens, break rooms, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces like door handles and tools.
  • Waste Management: Efficiently collecting, sorting (trash/recycling), and disposing of waste materials.
  • Industrial Cleaning: Operating specialized equipment (floor scrubbers, power washers) and safely handling industrial cleaning agents/chemicals.
  • Maintenance Support: Changing light bulbs, cleaning air vents, reporting maintenance needs (like plumbing/electrical issues) to management, and performing minor repairs

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a janitor or maintenance worker
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of Industrial Manufacturing experience

Skills:

  • Ability to read and write and to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to make judgement and decisions on janitorial duties.
  • Ability to work with light material, remove waste, and remove snow.
