About the Role:

The Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of commercial buildings and surrounding grounds. This position ensures that all facilities are hygienic, orderly, and well-maintained to provide a welcoming environment for employees, clients, and visitors. The janitor will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, including handling stainless steel surfaces, managing waste disposal, and conducting routine landscaping and lawn care. Additionally, the role involves operating box trucks for transporting supplies and equipment, as well as utilizing computer systems to log work activities and communicate with management. Ultimately, the janitor contributes to the smooth operation and positive image of the facility by adhering to safety procedures and efficiently managing physical tasks that require lifting and carrying heavy weights.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience in janitorial or custodial work within commercial buildings.
• Ability to safely lift and carry heavy weights regularly.
• Familiarity with janitorial cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a box truck.
• Basic computer skills to document work and communicate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with landscaping and lawn care maintenance.
• Knowledge of stainless steel cleaning and maintenance best practices.
• Certification in workplace safety or hazardous materials handling.
• Previous experience working in a commercial building environment.
• Additional training in equipment operation or facility maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing restrooms and common areas within commercial buildings.
• Clean and maintain stainless steel surfaces and fixtures to ensure a polished and professional appearance.
• Operate box trucks to transport cleaning supplies, equipment, and landscaping materials between locations as needed.
• Conduct routine landscaping and lawn care activities including mowing, trimming, watering, and debris removal to maintain attractive outdoor spaces.
• Follow established safety procedures to handle cleaning chemicals, operate equipment safely, and lift or carry heavy objects without injury.
• Use computer systems to log completed tasks, report maintenance issues, and communicate with supervisors regarding work schedules and supply needs.
