All About the Groundskeeper Role

The Groundskeeper plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and visual appeal of Belmont Park. From high-traffic walkways and attractions to landscaped areas and administrative offices, this position ensures both public and team member spaces reflect the pride and excellence of our brand.

Your Role at Belmont Park

As a Groundskeeper, you are an essential part of the park’s daily operations. Your attention to detail, initiative, and consistency directly impact the guest experience. You help create an inviting and safe environment by maintaining both public-facing areas and behind-the-scenes administrative spaces.

What You'll Be Doing

Cleanliness & Appearance

Maintain cleanliness and presentation of public areas including walkways, dining areas, attractions, restrooms, and landscaped spaces
Clean and maintain administrative offices, staff lounges, and storage areas, ensuring trash removal and tidy surfaces
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize high-touch surfaces throughout the park
Restock and maintain public and administrative restrooms to ensure cleanliness and full supplies
Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and ensure proper disposal of waste
Clean windows, glass doors, and transparent surfaces to maintain a polished appearance
Clean drains, gutters, and outdoor maintenance areas to prevent blockages and maintain safety
Assist with deep cleaning projects during non-operational hours, including power washing and specialized cleaning tasks

Safety & Guest Experience

Respond promptly to spills, hazards, and cleanliness concerns to maintain a safe environment
Operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
Report maintenance or repair needs to supervisors
Provide friendly assistance or directions to guests when needed

Team Collaboration & Operations

Work closely with fellow team members to maintain a clean, orderly, and visually appealing park
Follow all safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment
Assist with seasonal or special event setup, teardown, and cleaning
Contribute to a culture of teamwork, pride, and high operational standards

Who You Are

Detail-oriented with strong pride in maintaining clean and organized environments
Reliable and self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Able to operate cleaning equipment and handle physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Committed to safety, cleanliness, and delivering a positive experience for every guest

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the park and administrative areas for up to 8 hours at a time.
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 40 lbs.
Capable of operating and maneuvering cleaning equipment, including pushing, pulling, stooping, and shoving.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Able to work in noisy environments and maintain focus on tasks.
Full use of hands and dexterity for manual cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Skills/Qualifications:

Prior janitorial, landscaping, or housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness, maintenance, and safety.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions accurately.
Commitment to upholding Belmont Park’s high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction.
Physical stamina and capability to perform manual tasks and handle equipment as required.

Testing/Work Authorization:

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Valid U.S. work authorization required.
Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Check Required.

Expected Hours of Work:
Flexible availability is required, including nights, holidays, and peak seasons. Team members must maintain open availability for at least two of the three weekend days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
