Java Engineer

Summary

We are looking for an experienced Java Engineer with strong expertise in Spring Boot and hands-on experience working with real-time data processing using Kafka. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building high-performance, scalable, and resilient backend services that handle streaming data in real time.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java backend development. Strong proficiency in Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Solid experience with Apache Kafka for real-time/streaming data processing. Understanding of Kafka topics, partitions, consumer groups, offsets, and event-driven design.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and containerization (Docker).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Be flexible with working across time zones with overseas customers if required

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and implement real-time data processing pipelines using Apache Kafka.
• Build and integrate microservices that consume, process, and publish streaming data.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to Kafka consumers/producers and backend services.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Exposure to Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, or other stream-processing tools.
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
• Understanding of distributed systems and high-throughput architecture.
