Key Responsibilities
- Create original jewellery designs through hand sketches and digital formats.
- Develop detailed manual drawings, mood boards, and design concepts.
- Convert approved concepts into CAD models/technical drawings where required.
- Coordinate with artisans, setters, and production teams to ensure manual designs are practical for manufacturing.
- Research trends, themes, customer preferences, and seasonal collections.
- Modify designs based on feedback and market requirements.
- Select materials, stones, and settings suited to manual craftsmanship.
- Maintain design records, catalogues, and style libraries.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience in jewellery designing.
- Strong manual sketching and visualization skills.
- Working knowledge of CAD software (e.g., Rhino, Matrix, JewelCAD, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, etc.).
- Understanding of manual jewellery manufacturing techniques such as hand-setting, soldering, filigree, hand-carving, etc. (as applicable to your business).
- Good sense of aesthetics, proportions, and market trends.
- Ability to work with artisans and production teams.
- Attention to detail and creativity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Jewellery Design or related field.
- Experience in gold/diamond/silver (customize as needed).
- Portfolio showcasing manual sketches and finished designs (mandatory).
