Jewelry CAD Designer

Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and innovative Jewelry CAD Designer to join our dynamic design team. In this role, you will transform creative concepts into detailed, precise 3D models and technical drawings that bring jewelry ideas to life. Your expertise in computer-aided design (CAD) software, combined with a passion for fashion and craftsmanship, will help shape stunning jewelry collections that captivate our customers. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the entire product lifecycle, from initial sketches to final production, while working in a fast-paced, inspiring environment. Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models and technical renderings of jewelry designs using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability
  • Collaborate closely with designers, gemologists, and production teams to refine concepts and translate sketches into digital prototypes
  • Incorporate principles of color theory, gemstone placement, and metalwork into digital designs to enhance visual appeal
  • Manage multiple projects throughout their lifecycle, from initial concept through revisions and final approval
  • Maintain organized records of design files, specifications, and version histories in product lifecycle management systems
  • Stay updated on current fashion trends, jewelry styles, and CAD technology advancements to inspire innovative designs
  • Assist in preparing presentation materials for client reviews or internal design pitches

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with CAD software such as Rhino, MatrixGold, or similar programs tailored for jewelry design
  • Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite tools including Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for rendering and presentation purposes
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management processes within the jewelry industry
  • Background in fashion design or fashion retail with an understanding of garment construction and styling principles is a plus
  • Familiarity with graphic design, illustration techniques, and color theory to create compelling visual concepts
  • Ability to operate sewing machines or sewing techniques is advantageous for understanding textile influences on jewelry styling
  • Excellent attention to detail with a keen eye for aesthetics and craftsmanship standards
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and present ideas clearly
