Part-Time Administrative & Support Assistant

Great opportunity for someone looking for a part time position. Ideally we would like to find someone who would have interest in residing in this position long term, or has interest in taking on new roles down the road.

Great opportunity for college students or those who may have limited schedules currently. Schedule will be somewhat consistent, but being retail, we base hours on store needs. Saturdays may not be common, but in a pinch required.

Dan Martin Jewelers is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Administrative & Support Assistant to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of administrative work, creative tasks, and hands-on involvement in daily store operations. Position Overview

The Administrative & Support Assistant will help keep our store running smoothly by supporting front-of-house and back-of-house operations. Responsibilities include customer interaction, inventory processing, social media content participation, and general day-to-day store assistance.

Key Responsibilities/Administrative Duties

  • Answer basic customer questions in-store and over the phone
  • Organize documents and update records
  • Assist with daily store operations and general office tasks

Inventory Processing

  • Check in new inventory and verify quantities
  • Enter items into the system accurately
  • Label, tag, and store products appropriately

Content Creation & Photography

  • Create and post Instagram/Facebook “Stories” showcasing products, promotions, and behind-the-scenes content
  • Take clear, high-quality photos of jewelry and merchandise
  • Model jewelry pieces for photos or social media when needed

Shipping & Packaging

  • Prepare customer shipments, print labels, and pack items securely
  • Confirm correct addresses and ensure timely outgoing orders

Store Organization

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Keep supplies stocked and support an efficient workspace

Tagging & Re-Tagging

  • Create, print, and attach jewelry tags
  • Update product tags as needed (pricing, SKUs, descriptions, sizes)

Customer Support

  • Assist customers on the sales floor when all other associates are currently assisting customers.
  • Help locate items, answer questions, and provide product recommendations
  • Handle repair pickups, verify information, and process payments

Additional Tasks

  • Replace basic watch batteries (training provided)
  • Professional gift wrapping for customer purchases
  • Assemble and prepare promotional mailers
  • Open and unpack incoming shipments and prepare items for display
  • Participate in inventory counts and discrepancy checks

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable interacting with customers
  • Ability to multitask and follow established procedures
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
  • Photography or social media experience is a plus (but not required)
  • Willingness to learn new tasks, including simple watch battery replacement
  • Skill set in word, excel, POS systems

Schedule

  • Part-time hours
  • Flexible scheduling available, including some weekends if needed
