Role Overview
The Head of Sales, Procurement & Operations will oversee the company’s commercial growth, supplier partnerships, and end-to-end operational efficiency. The role requires leadership in driving sales revenue, ensuring cost-effective procurement, and managing smooth execution of marine trading operations. The position is critical in achieving profitability, customer satisfaction, and sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Management
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve monthly and annual revenue targets.
- Identify and acquire new customers in marine and industrial segments.
- Manage and grow existing accounts by offering value-added solutions.
- Set and monitor KPIs for the sales team.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with clients.
- Prepare periodic sales forecasts and performance reports.
2. Procurement Management
- Develop reliable supplier/vendor networks (local and international).
- Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and payment terms with suppliers.
- Ensure cost-effective sourcing without compromising quality.
- Monitor inventory levels and reduce procurement lead times.
- Manage supplier contracts and ensure compliance with company standards.
3. Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day trading, logistics, warehousing, and delivery operations.
- Coordinate with finance for invoicing, collections, and credit control.
- Implement operational systems to ensure timely order execution.
- Monitor and improve processes to reduce overhead costs and increase efficiency.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve operational bottlenecks.
4. Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor a team across sales, procurement, and operations.
- Drive a culture of accountability, performance, and teamwork.
- Align departmental goals with company objectives.
- Report directly to the Managing Director with actionable insights.
- Contribute to business expansion plans (new markets, new products, partnerships).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Monthly & annual sales revenue achieved.
- Profit margins maintained on sales.
- Supplier discounts and procurement cost savings.
- On-time order fulfillment & customer satisfaction rate.
- Inventory turnover ratio & reduction in dead stock.
- Collections efficiency (reduced overdue receivables).
- Team performance and retention.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Marine Engineering (preferred MBA).
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in sales/procurement/operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in UAE.
- Strong knowledge of the marine and industrial trading industry.
- Proven negotiation, leadership, and commercial strategy skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making abilities.
- Fluency in English (Arabic/Hindi/Malayalam an advantage).
