Job Description: Logistics & Trade Compliance Specialist

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and track inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to optimize transit times, costs, and service levels.
• Monitor shipment status, resolve delays, and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate shipping documentation and ensure proper freight billing and cost allocation.

• Ensure all import and export activities comply with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., U.S. Customs, EAR, ITAR, Incoterms, CTPAT, TSCA and other international trade standards).
• Review commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other customs documentation for accuracy and make any corrections needed.
• Classify goods using HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) and ECCN codes.
• Monitor changes in global trade regulations and communicate relevant updates to internal teams.
• Conduct compliance audits and recommend corrective actions as needed.
• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
• Work cross functionally with Procurement, Sales, and Operations to forecast logistics needs and mitigate supply chain disruptions.
• Support development of internal training programs on trade compliance and logistics best practices.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, cost savings, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics coordination, international shipping, or trade compliance.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and global suppliers
• Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping terms, customs regulations, and trade compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in shipment tracking systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
• Preferred
  • Familiarity with CTPAT, EAR, ITAR, and other international trade programs.
  • Experience with IFS ERP system, CBP ACE Portal
