1. Role Objective
To develop and execute the sales strategy for diesel generator sales in Qatar for the assigned product:
- Securing vendor approvals with key end users and government authorities
- Generating project-based sales through consultants and contractors
- Driving specification inclusion at design stage
- Building brand positioning through technical seminars and market engagement
The role is techno-commercial with a strong focus on project pipeline development.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Sales & Marketing:
- Develop and execute annual sales plan for generator sets (LV & MV applications)
- Target sectors:
- Government & semi-government entities
- Infrastructure & utilities
- Oil & Gas
- Commercial & mixed-use developments
- Industrial projects
- Achieving sales targets (Revenue, GP %, Market Share)
- Identify project pipeline and track projects
B. Product Approvals & Vendor Registration
- Liaise with:
- End users (ministries, utility authorities, developers)
- MEP consultants
- Main contractors
- Oil & Gas operators
- Manage vendor registration and prequalification submissions with the PQ team.
- Coordinate with the factory for technical documentation, compliance certificates, and deviations
C. Specification & Consultant Engagement
- Promote generators& assigned products at design stage
- Conduct technical presentations to:
- MEP consultants
- Electrical design offices
- Secure brand specification in tender documents
- Provide load calculations and generator-sizing support
D. Technical & Commercial Proposal Management
- Prepare techno-commercial offers including:
- Generator sizing
- ATS panels
- Synchronization systems
- Acoustic enclosures
- Fuel systems
- Review tender documents and highlight deviations
- Coordinate pricing strategy with management
- Negotiate and close deals
E. Marketing & Brand Positioning
- Organize:
- Technical seminars
- Product launch events
- Contractor workshops
- CPD sessions for consultants
- Participate in industry events and exhibitions
- Develop brand visibility
F. After-Sales Coordination
- Coordinate with service team for:
- Installation supervision
- Commissioning
- Warranty support
- Ensure smooth handover from sales to execution
3. Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering fields
Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in Qatar
- Proven experience in:
- Diesel generator sales
- Project-based MEP sales
- Consultant approvals and vendor registration
- Existing network with:
- MEP consultants
- Major contractors
- Government entities
Technical Knowledge
- Generator sizing and load analysis
- Synchronization & load sharing systems
- LV/MV distribution
- Familiarity with local authority regulations
