Joinery/carpentry Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Joinery / Carpentry Supervisor to oversee and coordinate carpentry and joinery activities either in the workshop or on construction/fit-out sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking, team supervision, and project coordination, with a keen eye for quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Leadership

Supervise and lead a team of joiners, carpenters, and assistants on-site or in the workshop.

Plan and assign daily tasks to the workforce according to project schedules.

Provide hands-on support and training where required.

Project Execution

Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.

Ensure accurate execution of joinery and carpentry works per client requirements.

Monitor progress and ensure tasks are completed within deadlines.

Quality Assurance

Conduct inspections to ensure all work meets quality and design standards.

Identify defects and ensure timely rectification.

Maintain high levels of craftsmanship and finishing.

Health, Safety & Compliance

Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring workers wear PPE and follow protocols.

Conduct daily safety briefings and toolbox talks.

Report incidents or near-misses as per company policy.

Material & Resource Management

Monitor material usage and ensure adequate supply of tools and equipment.

Coordinate with procurement for timely ordering of materials.

Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and stored properly.

Communication & Coordination

Liaise with project managers, engineers, designers, and subcontractors.

Provide regular progress updates and escalate issues when necessary.

Represent the joinery/carpentry team in coordination meetings.

Documentation

Maintain daily records of work progress, labor attendance, and material usage.

Assist with preparation of reports for management and clients.

Document variations or changes from the original plans.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Proven experience (5+ years) in joinery or carpentry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, tools, and machinery.

Ability to read and interpret CAD/shop drawings and technical specifications.

Familiarity with health & safety practices and regulations.

Basic computer skills for reporting (Excel, Word, etc.).

Trade certification or diploma in Carpentry, Joinery, or Construction (preferred).

Pay: QAR4,000.00 - QAR5,000.00 per month
