Journeyman Electrician

Position Overview:

We are seeking California State Licensed Journeyman Electricians to join our team for the electrical installation on a rooftop solar project in Bakersfield, CA. Candidates with electrical experience in industrial, or renewable industries are preferred.

Schedule: Mon–Fri: 8 hrs/day

Pay Rate: $74.00 HR

Per Diem: $125.00 Per work Day

Duration: 2 months

Responsibilities:

• Review electrical drawings and schematics to plan DC and AC wiring layouts.
• Set and secure EMT conduit according to project requirements and approval
• Install DC wiring for solar strings, complete MC4 terminations, and connect modules.
• Route paralleled AC wiring through EMT to reach combiner boxes.
• Pull paralleled AC wiring through ENT from combiners to the main switchgear.
• Perform AC and DC terminations
• Build, connect, and troubleshoot solar-related electrical systems and components.
• Carry out electrical testing, inspections, voltage checks, grounding, and commissioning procedures.
• Assist in the setup and calibration of switchgear, switchboards, combiner boxes, and low-voltage circuits.
• Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to apprentices and helpers.
• Utilize appropriate hand tools (i.e., crescent wrench, pliers, hammer, screwdriver) and power tools (i.e., drills, impact wrenches) to install PV systems per codes and standards using drawings, schematics, and instructions.
• Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid California Journeyman Electrical license.
• Minimum 7 years of Electrical experience
• Preferred experience in industrial settings, substations, or renewable energy.
• Strong understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic hand tools required (wrenches, pliers, screwdriver, hammer, drill, impact driver, etc.)
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
