Journeyman Electrician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, local codes, and the National Electrical Code (NEC). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, interpret blueprints and schematics, and utilize a wide range of hand and power tools to deliver high-quality electrical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams to accurately execute projects.
  • Ensure all work adheres to NEC standards, local codes, and safety regulations while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using testing devices like ohmmeters and troubleshoot low voltage and high voltage systems effectively.
  • Collaborate with construction teams on renovation projects, framing carpentry tasks, and general handyman duties as needed.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports, incident logs, and compliance records.
  • Assist in training apprentices or junior electricians when required to promote team development.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a licensed Journeyman Electrician with strong industrial electrician experience or commercial electrician background.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams; familiarity with construction site procedures is essential.
  • Hands-on experience working with low voltage and high voltage systems in various environments.
  • Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; as well as testing equipment like ohmmeters.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), NEC regulations, and schematics is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work safely on construction sites with a solid understanding of renovation processes and framing carpentry basics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the capacity to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills for reading plans accurately and collaborating effectively with team members. Pay: $36.25 - $43.65 per hour
