JPA Training Manager

SALARY: $99,480.48 to $113,754.24 Annually (Range 60)

LENGTH OF SERVICE: 227 Days per Year/12 Months

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the JPA Safety/Loss Control Manager, the JPA Training Manager is responsible for managing the operation of member employee compliance and staff development training programs, including the development, implementation, and delivery of training programs. The JPA Training Manager will also prepare yearly training course catalogs. This position will provide efficient support, guidance, and resources to the California Schools Risk Management (CSRM) district members to assist toward mitigation of claims activity.

· Designs and conducts training programs;

· Prepares yearly course catalogs;

· Develops and implements new staff development programs and processes;

· Identifies and evaluates training needs of member districts;

· Assesses the effectiveness of training programs;

· Creates brochures, invites, evaluations, memos, presentation materials and other informational materials;

· Coordinates facilities and food service for the trainings;

· Develops and maintains files, databases and records;

· Provides customer support and assistance to member districts;

· Manages course completions;

· Assists with conducting presentations, trainings, events, and/or workshops countywide;

· Assists in the training and district implementation of the Risk Management Information System (RMIS)

· Performs related duties as required.

Experience designing and conducting training programs;facilitating group processes;

Skill in the design and implementation of programs and processes; analysis of program operations; interpretation of staff development needs; use of PC computer systems and software applications;

Knowledge of group facilitation processes, training methods, English grammar and usage;

Ability to effectively advertise staff development programs; design and present effective programs and materials; establish and maintain department priorities, processes and procedures; exercise sound judgment; administer innovative plans, programs and services; prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; communicate effectively in oral and written form; establish and maintain effective relationships; work cooperatively and effectively with a diverse groups; travel to various locations;

Physical Abilities include sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods, reaching, fine manual dexterity, pushing and pulling, talking/hearing, near and far visual acuity, depth perception, field of vision.

· Two (2) years experience in the development and presentation of trainings;

· Two (2) years experience developing and maintaining files, databases, and records;

· One (1) year experience creating informational materials;

· Possession of a high school diploma (or its equivalency) or higher or possession of a GED.

· Possession of a valid Driver’s License and use of personal transportation required. (SBCSS vehicle not provided).

· Possession of an Associate’s Degree;

· Experience working in a Risk Management environment in a Joint Powers Authority (JPA), California school district or County Office of Education.
