A Junior Accountant is primarily responsible for managing daily financial transactions, maintaining accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, with additional attention to industry-specific inventory and documentation practices.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage daily financial transactions and bookkeeping for the showroom.
- Prepare, update, and maintain financial statements (income, balance sheets).
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, process invoices, and monitor payments
- Reconcile bank statements, review data accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor and help with inventory management, including tracking jewellery stock and raw materials.
- Coordinate with vendors and customers for billing and payments.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and showroom standards.
- Provide financial insights to management as required.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks) is preferred.
- Strong analytical and attention to detail skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other common office tools.
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience is common for junior roles in showrooms.
- Experience in the jewellery or retail sector is an advantage, though not mandatory.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
