Job Purpose
The Jr Centralized Control Engineer is responsible for executing and supervising the maintenance and performance of Centralized Control systems such as ATS, SCADA, and related automation platforms. This role supports the continuous, safe, and reliable operation of critical rail systems by implementing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, managing technical documentation, and coordinating system troubleshooting efforts. The role also contributes to asset reliability by ensuring accurate data recording through Maximo and supporting compliance with RDMC's operational and safety standards.

System Maintenance & Performance

Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance for Centralized Control systems including SCADA, ATS, and related automation equipment.

Monitor and analyze system components and performance trends, identifying potential risks or degradation.

Investigate and troubleshoot equipment failures or abnormalities and implement corrective measures.

Recommend and support system upgrades or optimizations based on condition assessments and performance data.

Prepare and update technical documentation related to system configuration, troubleshooting logs, and repair records.
Team Coordination & Task Execution

Coordinate and supervise daily tasks of technicians and maintainers, ensuring the timely execution of assigned work orders.

Prioritize maintenance tasks based on system criticality and operational requirements.

Facilitate communication and collaboration within the team; relay relevant information from management.

Promote a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous learning among team members.
Maximo
-
Ensure timely and accurate entry of Maximo maintenance activities, work orders, and fault logs.

Review data integrity within the CMMS system to support asset performance analysis and reporting.

Generate standard maintenance and fault trend reports as management requests.
Safety
-
Enforce adherence to safety policies and procedures in all field maintenance activities.

Oversee the correct application of work permits, lockout-tagout procedures, and access control protocols.

Participate in incident investigations and safety audits as required.

Ensure proper use of PPE and safe handling of tools and materials by the team.
Operational Support & Reporting

Assist in planning and scheduling maintenance interventions in coordination with operations and control room personnel.

Conduct field inspections and compile status updates on system health and maintenance progress.

Maintain and manage technical stock levels and recommend procurement for critical spares.

Complete any additional duties assigned by the Head of Centralized Control.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Communication Engineering.

Fluent in Arabic and English, French is a plus.
Knowledge
-
Strong understanding of low current systems, SCADA, and automation.

Technical familiarity with electrical and electronic systems used in railway control environments.

Basic proficiency in troubleshooting methodologies and diagnostic tools.

Knowledge of safety and quality standards in industrial environments.

Understanding of CMMS (preferably Maximo) usage and system integration is an advantage.
Experience
-
0–3 years of experience in centralized control, automation, ATS & SCADA maintenance.

Prior exposure to railway systems or industrial maintenance is desirable.
