JR Cybersecurity Specialist

Reporting to the Sr. Cybersecurity Specialist, this position of Jr. Cybersecurity Specialist protects the organization's information assets by identifying and resolving security risks. This role serves as a front-line defense, detecting abnormalities and violations, implementing security measures, assessing current threats, evaluating trends, and anticipating future requirements to maintain robust security.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Provide end user support through answering questions and email regarding suspicious emails, attachments, and network activity.
* Understands and adheres to all company cyber security policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
* Assists with the monitoring of network traffic for security incidents and events.
* Assist with implementing the Security Education Awareness training program for end users.
* Assists with software vulnerability updates on workstations.
* Assists with writing Cyber Security procedures.
* Assists all enterprise locations with OS build updates as needed.
* Assists in researching vulnerabilities.
* Assists with research and development before applying the fixes.
* Assists the network team with identifying cyber threats.
* Assists network team with how to best protect the company's data.
* Assist in the implementation and support of security tools.
* Assist with responding to urgent cyber security incidents in a timely manner.
* Assists with monthly security reports.
* Participate in team and project meetings.
* Must be extremely organized.
* Must be willing to work an occasional unstructured schedule and long hours

· Must have knowledge of Cybersecurity, Windows Servers, Wired and Wireless Security, Firewall, and Security Systems

· Must demonstrate the ability to work well within a team environment.
· Must be willing to work flexible schedules outside of the normal business hours as needed and willing to travel (overnight and daily).
· Must have excellent oral, written, interpersonal and planning skills; must be an initiative-taker and initiative-taking individual, and able to demonstrate strong leadership capabilities.

Desired Skills and Experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Recent college graduate or current college student majoring in cyber security is preferred. Some experience is necessary providing operations and end-user software and hardware support.
