Company Background/Overview
In 2024, OSC Global, LLC was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI), an Alaska Native Corporation. CIRI’s mission is to promote the economic and social well-being and Alaska Native heritage of its Shareholders, now and into the future, through prudent stewardship of the company’s resources, while furthering self-sufficiency among CIRI Shareholders and their families.
OSC Global, LLC is a parent company to a family of companies that provides IT/cyber enterprise management and professional services to support federal, state, and commercial customers. OSC Global and its subsidiaries employ approximately 500 professionals in the United States and seven other countries.
Position Overview
The Data Scientist Intern will work within the Chief Cyber Security Products Officer's (CCPO) office to support leadership through data-driven insights. This role will analyze operational and financial data, build predictive models and present findings that inform decision-making across OSC Global’s operating companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean and transform large datasets from various operational and financial systems.
- Develop data visualizations, dashboards and reports that support operational efficiency and financial insights.
- Build and test statistical and machine learning models to identify trends, forecast performance and support resource planning.
- Collaborate with the executive and departmental leaders to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Document methodologies and present results to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support ongoing process improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities for automation or operational efficiency.
- Maintain data integrity and confidentiality, adhering to relevant compliance and security standards.
- Perform other duties as appropriate and as assigned.

- Ability to understand and fulfill OSC Global’s mission, vision and strategic focus by incorporating knowledge into daily activities.
- General knowledge of data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL and visualization tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability and willingness to learn and quickly adapt to new information and processes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, or operations research methods.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including thorough knowledge of proper grammar, advanced vocabulary, spelling, editing and proofreading skills.
- Broad understanding of the business objectives of OSC Global, its subsidiaries and how these objectives relate to and meet CIRI’s enterprise objectives.
- Superior organizational, follow-up and detail-oriented skills.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office products.
Physical Abilities
- Sufficient fine motor skills for use of computers, calculators with an ability to withstand repetitive keyboarding for extended periods of time.
- Visual and communication ability adequate to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Ability to kneel, bend and twist at the waist on an occasional basis.
- Ability to reach below shoulder height with regular frequency (desk position) and at or above shoulder height on occasion.
- Ability to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis, and greater weights on an occasional basis.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and travel by motor vehicle and aircraft.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Currently pursuing or recently completed degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance or a related field.
- Proficient in data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check
- Ability to obtain security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with government contracting or regulated industries.
- Coursework or experience in finance, economics, or accounting.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms or big data technologies.
