Job Description – E-Commerce Assistant (Gold Jewelry Retail – UAE)

  • Position Title : Jr. E-Commerce Assistant
  • Industry : Retail – Gold & Diamond Jewellery
  • Location : UAE (Onsite / Hybrid / Remote – based on business requirement)
  • Reporting To : E-Commerce Manager / Retail Operations Manager / Business Owner

Job Purpose: The E-Commerce Assistant will support and manage the online sales operations of the jewellery business, ensuring accurate product listings, efficient order processing, and strong customer engagement. The role requires effective communication in Arabic and English, maintaining brand reputation, and ensuring customer satisfaction across UAE and GCC markets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Listing & Catalogue Management

  • Upload and maintain jewelry product listings on website, marketplaces, and social media platforms.
  • Ensure accurate product details including:
  • Gold purity and weight
  • Diamond quality and specifications
  • Product descriptions, SKU coding, and tagging
  • Pricing updates aligned with daily gold rate fluctuations
  • Coordinate product photography and or video uploads.
  • Maintain real-time inventory synchronization between showroom and online platforms.

2. Order Management & Processing

  • Monitor and process daily online orders across company’s online website and other e-commerce channels.
  • Generate invoices and verify payment confirmations.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and Dispatch/Courier teams for order dispatch.
  • Track deliveries and communicate order status updates to customers in Arabic and English.
  • Manage product returns, exchanges, and refunds as per company policies.

3. Customer Relationship & Sales Support

  • Respond to customer enquiries via:
  • WhatsApp Business
  • Website live chat
  • Social media platforms such as FB, Instagram
  • Email correspondence
  • Provide professional jewellery product consultation.
  • Assist customers with product selection, customization requests, and pricing queries.
  • Maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and referrals.

4. Website & Marketplace Coordination

  • Manage jewelry listings and pricing across:
  • Company website
  • UAE online marketplaces such as Amazon, Noon, and others (if any)
  • Monitor website performance and report technical or content issues.
  • Ensure product availability and listing compliance across digital channels.

5. Digital Marketing & Social Media Support

  • Assist in executing online promotional campaigns and seasonal jewelry offers.
  • Support social media content posting in Arabic and English.
  • Coordinate product launches, festive campaigns, and discount promotions.
  • Monitor online sales trends and prepare performance reports.

6. Inventory & Stock Coordination

  • Track inventory movement between showroom, warehouse, and online platforms.
  • Monitor fast-moving jewellery items and report replenishment requirements.
  • Assist in periodic inventory reconciliation and stock audits.

7. Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain proper documentation of online transactions and sales records.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE consumer protection, Company’s policies/work-frame, and e-commerce regulations.
  • Follow company pricing, certification, and authenticity policies.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Fluency in Arabic & English (Speak, Read and Write)
  • Additional languages such as Hindi or Urdu will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience with E-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce or similar and CRM's.
  • Knowledge of online marketplaces such as Amazon and Noon.
  • Understanding of jewellery product specifications and pricing structure.
  • Inventory and order management software experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
  • Basic product photography coordination and content writing skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • High attention to detail, especially in pricing and product specifications.
  • Strong coordination and multitasking ability.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and sales targets.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling jewellery product data.

Preferred Jewelry Industry Expertise

Candidate should possess working knowledge of:

  • Gold purity standards (18K, 21K, 22K, 24K)
  • UAE gold pricing structure and retail market practices
  • Jewellery SKU coding and classification
  • Jewellery certification and hallmarking standards

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or related discipline preferred.
  • Jewellery certification or gemology training will be an advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 – 5 years of experience in E-commerce operations.
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years’ experience in Gold / Jewellery Retail Industry – Preferred
  • Prior experience in UAE jewellery retail or GCC market is highly advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
