Job Purpose

The Junior Planning Engineer (Tendering Department) is responsible for preparing all tender deliverables related to project planning and scheduling. This includes developing tender-stage schedules/programs, manpower and equipment histograms, S-curves, mobilization plans, and supporting narratives for tender submissions. The role ensures that all planning outputs accurately reflect project scope, milestones, and client requirements, while adhering to strict submission deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare tender-stage project schedules/programs using Primavera P6, in alignment with tender scope, specifications, and submission requirements.

· Develop S-Curves (Progress Curves), Equipment Mobilization Schedules, Manpower Histograms, and Direct & Indirect Manpower Mobilization Plans as part of the tender deliverables.

· Prepare project organization charts and project indirect staffing plans for each tender.

· Draft concise schedule narratives describing planning logic, sequencing, and assumptions used in tender-stage schedules.

· Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, and project specifications to identify timelines, milestones, and phasing requirements for incorporation into the tender schedule.

· Coordinate closely with the Tender Coordinator to align planning deliverables with submission timelines and documentation requirements.

· Support the estimation team by providing time-based data and planning insights for resource allocation and project duration assessment.

· Maintain and update a library of standard templates for resource curves, histograms, and mobilization schedules to improve consistency across tender submissions.

· Ensure all tender-stage planning files, schedules, and reports are properly formatted, documented, and archived for each project.

· Work collaboratively with senior planners and the Commercial & Tendering Manager to ensure technical consistency and compliance with Domopan standards.

· Resolve any client’s clarifications / RFIs related to planning.

Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil or Architectural) – mandatory.

· Minimum 2 years of experience in planning within a construction or contracting company, preferably focused on tender-stage planning deliverables.

· Proven ability to prepare Primavera P6 schedules/programs, S-Curves, manpower and equipment histograms, and Manpower, Staff, and equipment mobilization schedules.

· Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

· Understanding of resource and cost loading in P6.

· Excellent time management, analytical, and organizational skills.

· Fluency in English (spoken and written).

· Ability to interpret tender documents, specifications, and drawings independently and translate them into clear planning outputs.

Preferred / Advantageous

· Experience in working within or supporting tendering departments.
