About Us
SLRP is seeking a skilled and passionate Junior Sous Chef – Japanese Cuisine to join our culinary team in Al Ain. The ideal candidate will have experience in Japanese cuisine, a strong understanding of kitchen operations, and a commitment to delivering exceptional food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen
- Prepare and present authentic Japanese dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure consistency, quality, and timely delivery of all food items
- Supervise and support kitchen staff during service
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, sanitation, and safety
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management and ordering
- Minimize food wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients
- Support training and development of junior kitchen team members
- Ensure compliance with company policies and food safety regulations
Requirements
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in Japanese cuisine, including experience in a supervisory kitchen role
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cooking techniques, ingredients, and presentation standards
- Experience with sushi, sashimi, hot kitchen, or robata preparation is an advantage
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
