Why does the job exist?

The Judicial Coordinator will:
Provide general subject matter expertise to assigned behavioral health programs;

Provide support and oversight to assigned programs which includes but is not limited to reviewing, processing and approving applications; writing and technical reports; providing technical assistance to providers;

Conduct site visits to evaluate program performance;

Ensure implementation of program goals and outcomes;

Ensure adherence to state and federal statues and guidelines;

Ensure safety and service delivery;

Monitor financial and budgetary needs and create/develop scopes of work;

Support monthly/quarterly Learning Communities and/or other training;

Attend division wide meetings, team meetings, and Program Coordinator Meetings with the Behavior Health Services Division (BHSD) finance staff;

Collaborate with other departments, providers, and constituents as needed to support best practices.

How does it get done?

The Judicial Coordinator is responsible for:
Ensuring the best practice concepts and the use of evidence-based practices in service delivery;

Evaluating provider and consumer needs regarding specialized behavioral health standards, quality improvement processes, and work force issues;

Providing ongoing support and technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders;

Utilizing work experience, professional knowledge and critical thinking skills in the coordination of existing behavioral health services and programs;

Working towards improving upon and developing services to address the needs of New Mexicans;

Supporting team efforts to prepare Requests for Applications (RFAs), and/or other funding requests or activities related to assigned program(s);

Developing scopes of work for successful provider applicants to ensure deliverables are met according to RFA guidelines;

Monitoring program activities and correcting deficiencies when applicable;

Updating operating manuals and policies as needed.

Minimum Qualification

Associate's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Family Studies/Services, Social Sciences, or Human Services and one (1) year of experience as a social work assistant and/or in social or community coordination, working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, and/or behavioral health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting: late hours and weekends work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Must have own mode of transportation. Incumbent may be required to furnish a personal vehicle for carrying out assignments.
