It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work
This position requires interaction with criminal offenders.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Work assignments may include providing technical support to staff within the state court through acceptance, examination and processing of legal documents and providing pre-sentence, pre-parole, post release investigations. The incumbent will perform a variety of administrative tasks including but not limited to preparing documents and tracking status of cases.
Work involves significant contact with members and officials of the judicial system, community agencies, victims, and offenders, serving as the agency’s representative in court, the community, and in maintaining public awareness of the community service program.
The Judicial Services Coordinator should have the ability to exhibit a working knowledge of local and regional community resources to address the placement of monitored offenders.

Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Must behave in a professional manner at all times as this position holds a highly visible position within Community Supervision.
Must possess exceptional time management and organizational skills and must be able to work under stressful situations.
Must work as a member of a team in a variety of activities to include court intake.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, human services, psychology, or related field of study from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Associate’s degree in criminal justice, human services, psychology, or related field of study from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in the court system, paralegal work, or other directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in the court system, paralegal work, or other directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.EEO Statement
