The Role

As a Junior Accountant, you will be the backbone of our finance team—handling daily accounting operations, helping to close accounting periods, and supporting financial control in a fast‑mov­ing e‑commerce environment. This is an ideal opportunity for a proactive individual looking to build a career in fashion accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Accounting & Bookkeeping
• Record daily financial transactions: sales, expenses, invoices, and receipts.
• Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) with accurate coding and approvals.
• Handle petty cash, staff reimbursements.
• Reconciliations & Month-End Support
• Perform regular bank reconciliations, cash postings, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month‑end close by preparing journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Financial Reporting
• Draft and compile preliminary financial reports (P&L, cash flows, variance analyses).
• Track expenses, revenue, and inventory-related costs to support margin analysis.
• Compliance & Audit Support
• Maintain clearly organized and accessible financial records.
• Participate in internal or external audits by supporting documentation and ad hoc requests.
• Assist with VAT or tax filings and compliance (e.g., UAE VAT).
• Collaboration & Document Control
• Support senior accountants, finance managers, and cross‑functional teams (e.g., operations, supply chain).
• Help create or maintain process documentation for finance workflows and internal controls.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (recent graduates welcome).
• Around 1–3 years of accounting experience or internship exposure, especially within e-commerce, retail or fast-fashion is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, Tally, Xero).
• Knowledge of IFRS standards and VAT compliance (particularly UAE VAT) is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Accuracy & Thoroughness: Ensure every transaction is correctly recorded and reconciled.
• Dependability: Play a vital and trustworthy role in month-end closings and day-to-day operations.
