Position Overview

This position will provide accounting and internal audit support at St. Joseph’s University, NY and will report to the Controller.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Review new vendor information for accounts payable.

· Perform internal audit functions of accounts payable invoice entries.

· Maintain check log and weekly mailings of payments.

· Prepare journal entries and uploads to the general ledger.

· Reconcile bank accounts.

· Prepare general ledger analyses.

· Track and maintain stale dated checks and unclaimed property.

· Assist with the preparation of the 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC annual filings.

· Process certain student loan activity and assist in loan consolidations and assignments.

· Prepare account analysis and schedules.

· Attend and participate in monthly Accountants Team meetings.

· Additional duties as deemed necessary by the Controller.

Skills and Competencies

· Comfortable with technology and good knowledge of MS Office.

· Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

· Must possess a customer-service driven and team-oriented approach.

· Must be able to manage time and multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, accomplish goals, and meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.

· Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with peers, supervisors, other college personnel.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

· Higher Education experience preferred.

· Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague a plus.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
