Junior Accounting Analyst

Position Purpose:

The Junior Accounting Analyst assists the Finance team in preparing and tracking critical department information. This role is primarily responsible for generating NICB membership assessment and program invoicing and is also responsible for tracking, reporting and communicating on accounts receivables. Other accounting, audit, analysis and reporting as assigned.

Work Arrangement and Description:

This is a hybrid position and the Reporting Location is NICB Headquarters (Oak Brook, IL). The individual will be provided with the privilege and flexibility to work away from NICB Headquarters, but will be required to report periodically in-person based upon business needs, subject to the discretion of their supervisor, and in compliance with NICB's rules and procedures. The individual will be expected to go into the office up to one day per week.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and send accurate and timely membership invoices based on product or membership type.
• Maintain and accurately update customer files in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and accounting software to ensure data integrity and traceability.
• Monitor payment status, following up as needed to avoid delays. Generate automated past-due account emails and respond to customer inquiries partnering with internal Program Directors as needed.
• Generate reports and provide account updates as requested.
• Assist with compiling monthly and year-end financial statements, budget development and the annual financial audit.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline workflows and reduce inefficiencies.
• Serve as backup to the internal company vehicle Fleet Administrator.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal departments and external vendors, addressing inquiries and resolving issues efficiently and professionally.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required (Accounting, Business or Finance degree preferred)
• 1 – 2 years’ experience in an Accounting or Finance related role preferred
• Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting practices and principles.
• Working knowledge in Microsoft office applications, specifically Excel (i.e., excel tables, pivot tables and advanced formulas).
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics or similar programs preferred.
• Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management software preferred.

Environment and Physical Demands:

• Hybrid work schedule. The individual will be expected to go into the office up to one day per week.

Salary Range and Statement:

This is a nonexempt position and the salary range is $25.93 per hour to $29.23 per hour. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
