Junior Accounts Officer

Position Title: Junior Accounts Officer

Department: Accounts & Finance

Location: My City Hospital

Reports To: Accounts Manager / Finance Manager, Hospital Administrator

Duty Hours: 09hours per day, 06 days in a week

Job Summary:

The Junior Accounts Officer is responsible for assisting in daily financial and accounting operations of the hospital. The role includes maintaining financial records, handling billing and payment entries, supporting audits, managing petty cash, and ensuring accurate documentation of all financial transactions in compliance with hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain daily accounting records and financial transactions.

Prepare and record patient billing, receipts, and payment vouchers.

Assist in managing hospital cash flow and petty cash.

Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts regularly.

Maintain supplier, vendor, and consultant payment records.

Assist in payroll preparation and salary processing.

Prepare invoices, quotations, and purchase-related financial documentation.

Ensure proper filing and maintenance of financial documents and records.

Coordinate with reception, pharmacy, laboratory, and other departments for billing reconciliation.

Assist during internal and external audits.

Prepare Profit & Loss accounts.

Monitor outstanding payments and follow up where required.

Support senior finance staff in monthly and yearly financial reporting.

Ensure compliance with hospital financial policies and procedures.

Perform any other accounts-related duties assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.

Fresh to 2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.

Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.

Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.

Good communication and organizational skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in financial records.

Working Conditions:

Full-time hospital-based position

May require extended hours during audits or month-end closing
