Job Title: Junior Accountant – With Real Estate Leasing Background/ Experience
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant with experience in real estate leasing to support our finance and accounting team. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting operations, lease administration, and reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record, track, and reconcile daily financial transactions related to leasing activities.
- Prepare and maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable records, including tenant invoices, rent collections, and security deposits.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Support lease administration by reviewing lease agreements, maintaining lease abstracts, and ensuring accurate billing according to lease terms.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for leasing operations.
- Prepare reports on occupancy, lease income, and tenant delinquencies.
- Collaborate with property management and operations teams to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management, with exposure to leasing.
- Strong understanding of lease accounting and tenant billing processes.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, MRI) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
