SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Financial Analyst to support the FP&A team in accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This role will report directly to the FP&A Manager and be coordinated by a senior FP&A Analyst, offering a collaborative environment for growth and learning.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and variance analyses.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes across departments.
  • Maintain and improve Excel-based financial models and templates.
  • Analyze cost drivers and departmental spending trends.
  • Collaborate with other analysts to develop dashboards and reports using BI tools (Power BI preferred).
  • Participate in financial reviews and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in financial systems and reports.
  • Help implement financial accountability practices and cost management initiatives.
  • Assist in grant reporting reconciliation.
  • Support departments in aligning grant-funded activities with financial policies.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as requested by the FP&A Manager or senior analyst.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is an individual contributor role. There are no supervisory responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or FP&A.


SKILLS / CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES:

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, charts, etc.).
    • Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a strong plus.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in public sector or transportation industry.
  • Exposure to cost management by cost drivers.
  • Understanding of financial accountability frameworks.
  • Familiarity with grant funding and compliance requirements.
