Junior Associate Attorney – Family Law

Southlake, Texas (In-Person)

The Law Offices of Mark M. Childress, PLLC is seeking a motivated Junior Associate Attorney to join our Southlake office. This position is ideal for a recent law school graduate awaiting bar results or a newly licensed attorney looking to gain experience in family law.

About the Role

This is an entry-level, hands-on position focused on supporting senior attorneys with case preparation and client communication. The Junior Associate will gain exposure to family law practice without the immediate expectation of managing a full caseload or litigating independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence.
  • Prepare binders, exhibits, and evidence for hearings and trials.
  • Assist senior attorneys with case strategy, research, and organization.
  • Communicate with clients under attorney supervision to gather information and provide updates.
  • Support attorneys in preparing for mediations, hearings, and other proceedings.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure case files are current and organized.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed in Texas or awaiting Texas Bar exam results.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Interest in family law and willingness to learn.
