About The Role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Automation Engineer to join our growing QA team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in manual testing concepts, basic exposure to test automation, and an eagerness to build expertise in automation frameworks, API testing, and SQL validations. You will work closely with developers, senior QA engineers, and product owners in an Agile environment to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Understand requirements and contribute to writing test cases, test scenarios, and automation scripts.
• Perform functional, regression, and smoke testing, leveraging strong manual testing concepts where required.
• Learn and work on test automation frameworks (Playwright/Selenium) under senior QA guidance.
• Execute API testing using Postman/Swagger and validate responses through automation.
• Write and execute SQL queries to validate backend data and ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with developers and QA peers to automate repetitive testing tasks.
• Ensure defects are reported with complete details and help maintain QA documentation (test plans, automation reports).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
• Stay curious and open to AI-driven automation tools and emerging QA technologies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes with automation-first thinking.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in Software Testing or Automation.
• Solid foundation in manual testing concepts, SDLC, and STLC.
• Basic knowledge of Test Automation concepts (Playwright/Selenium exposure preferred).
• Good understanding of API testing principles and tools like Postman.
• Strong foundation in SQL query writing (joins, aggregations, validations).
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and Agile development practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative Agile environment.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Awareness of QA metrics and reporting.
• Knowledge of performance testing basics.
• Experience with bug tracking & test management tools (Jira, Zephyr, TestRail, etc.).
