Job Summary: We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Junior Barista with a passion for coffee and exceptional customer service to join our luxury cafe team. This entry-level position is focused on developing core barista skills, maintaining the coffee station's cleanliness, and delivering high-quality beverages with a consistently friendly and professional demeanor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare a full range of specialty espresso-based beverages, pour-overs, cold brews, and single-origin filter coffees in accordance with established recipes and brand standards, delivering consistent quality on every cup.
• Dial in espresso grind size, dose, yield, and extraction time at the start of each shift and whenever bean batches or ambient conditions change, maintaining target extraction parameters throughout service.
• Steam and texture plant-based and dairy milk to precise temperature and microfoam consistency, and produce presentable latte art as a mark of craft and guest experience quality.
• Craft the full mocktail and non-alcoholic signature drinks menu using fresh ingredients, house-made syrups, infusions, and garnishes, following standardised recipes to ensure flavour consistency across all dayparts.
• Strictly follow all HACCP principles at the bar including temperature monitoring of perishable ingredients, proper labelling and dating, allergen separation, and accurate completion of daily food safety logs and checklists.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and sanitary bar environment throughout the shift, including regular backflushing of espresso machines, cleaning of steam wands, sanitising of surfaces and tools, and end-of-day deep-clean procedures as per HACCP guidelines.
• Monitor freshness, storage conditions, and shelf life of all bar ingredients including dairy, syrups, fresh garnishes, and opened coffee bags, rotating stock on a FIFO basis and flagging near-expiry items to the bar supervisor.
• Operate all bar equipment — including espresso machines, grinders, blenders, cold brew systems, and juicers — with care, perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, and promptly report any faults or performance irregularities.
• Execute thorough opening and closing bar procedures including stocking stations, preparing batch recipes and syrups, organising equipment for service, and ensuring the bar is left in a ready and compliant state for the next shift.
• Maintain and develop a strong working knowledge of coffee origins, processing methods, roast profiles, and brewing variables, actively participating in internal cuppings, training sessions, and any barista certification programmes offered by the company.
