JOB SUMMARY
The Junior Supply Chain Analyst supports the Purchasing and Supply Chain teams by analyzing inventory requirements, monitoring supplier performance, issuing and tracking purchase orders, and maintaining accurate product and supplier data. This position assists in ensuring timely product availability, managing open orders and backorders, supporting inventory planning initiatives, and maintaining technical product information within company systems.
The Junior Supply Chain Analyst works closely with Purchasing, Sales, Logistics, Quality Control, and suppliers to support efficient supply chain operations, improve data accuracy, and contribute to inventory optimization efforts. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Employees in this role may perform some or all the following duties:
· Analyze preorders and generate purchase orders for assigned product lines and suppliers.
· Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
· Review and manage backorder reports and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
· Support buyers in reviewing products below minimum inventory levels and identifying replenishment needs.
· Assist with urgent and critical purchase requirements to minimize supply disruptions
· Obtain supplier quotations and assist in evaluating pricing, lead times, and purchasing terms.
· Support supplier communication regarding order status, delivery schedules, and product availability
· Assist with maintaining purchasing records and procurement documentation.· Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory replenishment planning.
· Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, shortages, and opportunities for improvement.
· Support forecasting activities through data collection and analysis
· Assist in evaluating supplier performance metrics, delivery accuracy, and lead times.
· Prepare reports related to inventory levels, purchasing activity, and supply chain performance.
· Support efforts to improve inventory turnover and reduce stock shortages.
· Research and collect technical information, specifications, and product details as required.
· Maintain and update technical product information within company systems and databases.
· Gather product images, measurements, specifications, and related documentation
· Assist in developing and maintaining product databases for purchasing, quality, and product development purposes.
· Verify accuracy of product descriptions, specifications, and supplier information.
· Support product setup and maintenance activities within ERP and inventory systems.· Receive, track, and maintain records of supplier samples.
· Coordinate sample distribution to appropriate departments for evaluation.
· Maintain sample inventory and supporting documentation.· Assist with supplier performance tracking and communication.
· Support supplier qualification and evaluation processes when required.
· Enter and maintain purchasing, pricing, delivery, and supplier data in company systems.
· Create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and supply chain records.· Assist with document filing, scanning, data processing, and record retention.
· Support cross-functional projects involving Purchasing, Logistics, Quality Control, and Sales.
· Prepare reports and presentations related to purchasing and supply chain activities.
· Perform general administrative duties in support of department objectives.
