Junior Client Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated professional to join our team as a Junior Client Manager. This role is a strategic blend of client relationship management and technical accounting. It offers an excellent opportunity for a professional to gain deep practical experience in the UK accounting and finance sector while working toward their professional qualifications. You will support daily finance operations, assist with statutory requirements, and work closely with senior accountants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client & Portfolio Management: Act as a point of contact for clients, ensuring their accounting needs are met with high accuracy and professional conduct.
  • Bookkeeping & VAT: Assist with bookkeeping and the preparation of accounts, including support for VAT returns and other HMRC submissions.
  • Reconciliation & Ledgers: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, supplier statements, and client ledgers to maintain financial integrity.
  • Payroll & Compliance: Assist in payroll processing and ensure all related compliance standards are strictly followed.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare clear and simple financial reports under the supervision of senior management.
  • Audit Support: Maintain organized financial records and filing systems to support senior accountants during audits and year-end reporting.
  • Ad-hoc Support: Carry out additional financial and administrative tasks as required by the finance team to ensure operational efficiency.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Professional Qualification: Must be fully or partially qualified in ACCA, CA, ICMA, or CMA.
  • Specific Industry Experience: A minimum of 2 years of direct experience in a client management role within the UK-based Accounts and Tax consultancy industry.
  • Note: Overall general accounting experience will not be considered in lieu of this specific UK consultancy background.
  • Academic Background: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related subject.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential for managing UK-based client portfolios.
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of UK accounting principles, VAT, and tax regulations.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Excel. Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage is highly preferred.
  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and a proactive willingness to learn and progress toward full professional qualification.
