Key Responsibilities:
- Support the procurement department in sourcing materials, equipment, and services required for ongoing construction and maintenance projects.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), ensuring clarity in technical and commercial specifications.
- Receive and analyze supplier quotations to assess cost, quality, lead time, and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, and site teams to verify material requirements, delivery priorities, and specifications.
- Assist in preparing Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure accurate entry of data related to quantities, costs, and delivery terms.
- Follow up on order confirmations, dispatch schedules, and deliveries to maintain uninterrupted project progress.
- Maintain a systematic record of procurement documents including quotations, POs, delivery notes, and supplier correspondence.
- Update and monitor the procurement tracking sheet to reflect order progress and delivery status accurately.
- Support the vendor evaluation and prequalification process by collecting relevant supplier information and performance feedback.
- Verify and process supplier invoices in coordination with the accounts and site teams to ensure timely payments.
- Ensure full compliance with company procurement procedures, ethical standards, and approval workflows.
- Conduct routine market surveys to identify competitive suppliers and support cost optimization initiatives.
- Assist in preparing periodic procurement reports, material status updates, and cost tracking summaries for management review.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to facilitate customs clearance, documentation, and local transportation coordination.
- Provide general administrative support to the procurement department and contribute to process efficiency improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in procurement or material coordination within the construction or engineering industry (GCC experience preferred).
- Familiarity with construction materials, consumables, and equipment across various disciplines (Civil, Structural, and MEP).
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP or procurement software is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and numerical skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation abilities.
- Organized, proactive, and capable of handling multiple procurement tasks under pressure.
- Knowledge of Bahrain’s local procurement regulations, customs procedures, and import documentation is a plus.
- Demonstrates integrity, teamwork, and a results-driven approach to supporting project operations.
