FE is currently accepting applications for a full-time Junior Designer.

Junior Designers are recent graduates with up to 2 years of experience who will be supporting projects while working in teams as well as independently across a variety of project tasks. The successful applicant will work closely with FE staff, including the partners, and will participate on all aspects of projects from conception to completion.

The ideal candidate is a talented designer who is able to work through projects strategically and collaboratively from foundational concepts to developed architectural designs. We value forward-looking and pragmatic thinkers who are interested in advancing the urban, cultural, and social potential of built projects. Candidates should be organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to test and learn both in the office and in the field. The position offers many opportunities to contribute to the output and cultural of the office in an environment that values mentorship and growth.

Requirements

  • Education: Professional architectural degree (B.Arch or M.Arch)
  • Experience: 0 to 2 years experience (following graduation) in architectural offices, including leadership roles in the design and management of projects.
  • English fluency is required and you must be a US citizen or have a US work visa and be authorized to work in the US.
  • Portfolio: Past work demonstrating exceptional design and representation skills. We value work that engages with ideas as well as material and detail, expresses an attitude as well as construction logic.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong digital design skills including fluency with Rhino, and the Adobe Creative Suite is required. Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is preferred. The office uses Notion for project management; familiarity is beneficial but not necessary.
  • Technical Skills: Strong analog design skill, including sketching and model building.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational, multi-tasking and communication abilities.
  • Applicants should be highly organized and self motivated.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $65,000–$72,000, commensurate with experience
