Junior Devops

We are seeking a motivated Junior DevOps Engineer to support and help enhance our cloud infrastructure initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with foundational knowledge in managing and automating production environments across AWS and GCP, with an interest in leveraging data platforms like Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery.

You’ll play a supporting role in building a scalable, automated, and globally distributed platform, with a focus on learning high availability and performance best practices. The Junior DevOps Engineer will collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams (machine learning, data engineering, backend) to help maintain a robust, unified infrastructure foundation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Infrastructure: Assist in automating and optimizing cloud-native services across AWS and GCP under the guidance of senior team members.
• Container Management: Help deploy, monitor, and maintain secure environments using tools like Kubernetes.
• CI/CD Operations: Support the build and management of CI/CD pipelines and assist with day-to-day operations for automated build, test, and release cycles.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Write and maintain scripts to drive IaC adoption and improve deployment reliability.
• Collaboration: Partner with engineering leads to ensure infrastructure capabilities align with product goals.
• Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring systems remain compliant with SOC 2 standards and other regulatory frameworks (exposure to Qovery is a plus).
• Communication: Maintain clear communication with the team regarding status, blockers, and timelines.
• Incident Response: Participate in on-call rotations to learn incident resolution processes and ensure infrastructure health.

Requirements

• Cloud Fundamentals: Familiarity or early-stage experience with AWS and GCP, including basic deployment and monitoring concepts.
• Data Infrastructure: Basic understanding or exposure to Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery.
• Containerization: Hands-on experience (internships or personal projects included) with Kubernetes or container orchestration.
• Automation Tools: Familiarity with CI/CD tools, scripting, and infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Helm).
• Security Mindset: Understanding of DevSecOps principles, security best practices, and an interest in compliance (SOC 2 knowledge is a plus).
• Teamwork: Ability to work well within cross-functional software development teams.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn, and the ability to communicate clearly.
