Who we are:
Perseus Payments’ Platform Engineering Team (PET) is a newly established function dedicated to building and maintaining the foundational infrastructure and tooling that powers rapid, secure, and compliant software delivery. Our mission is to enable developer velocity and operational reliability by owning the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) on Azure, managing CI/CD, enforcing PCI DSS compliance, and providing architectural governance. PET operates with a ‘platform-as-a-product’ mindset, treating internal development teams as our customers and focusing on maximizing their experience and productivity.
Why this role:
This is a unique opportunity to join a high-impact team at its inception, shaping the future of our cloud infrastructure and developer experience at Perseus Payments. You’ll work hands-on with Azure cloud, automation, scripting, pipelines, and compliance, building self-service tools and templates that empower feature teams. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our platform is secure, scalable, and compliant with industry standards like PCI DSS, while driving innovation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage core Azure services (API Gateways, App Services, Functions, Queues, Databases etc.) using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
  • Deploy and maintain globally dispersed infrastructure, ensuring high availability, low-latency routing, compliance, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Build and maintain self-service tools/templates for feature teams to provision resources in a compliant manner.
  • Implement standardized logging, monitoring, alerting, and tracing.
  • Proactively identify and implement cost-saving measures; provide consumption visibility to teams.
  • Develop and execute recovery procedures for platform services; regularly test disaster recovery plans.
  • Own, maintain, and standardize CI/CD pipelines (deployment stages, quality gates, artifact management) using Azure DevOps.
  • Define and implement advanced deployment strategies (Blue/Green, Canary releases).
  • Manage deployment process and tooling from code commit to production, ensuring consistency and auditability.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for PCI DSS requirements related to infrastructure and deployment.
  • Implement and enforce network segmentation (VNETs, NSGs), secrets management (Azure Key Vault), and audit logging.
  • Provide evidence and documentation for compliance audits.
  • Implement security best practices (least-privilege access, security baselines) across all Azure resources.
  • Review architectural designs to ensure alignment with platform standards, security requirements, and operational best practices.
  • Define and enforce technical standards, naming conventions, and best practices for cloud usage.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to development teams on infrastructure, deployment, and performance challenges.
  • Coordinate with feature teams and the central Cloud Infrastructure Team to ensure alignment on core network, subscription, and foundational security services.

  • Scripting (Python, PowerShell).
  • Experience with multi-region/global Azure services (Front Door, Traffic Manager).
  • Strong understanding of cloud design patterns, microservices architecture, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
Security & Compliance:
  • Understanding of PCI DSS requirements (network segmentation, access control, logging).
  • Experience with Azure Security Center, Key Vault management.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • ‘Product mindset’—treating the platform as a product for internal developers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and navigate ambiguity.
  • Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Experience:
  • At least 4 years of experience in platform, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps engineering.
Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with observability platforms (e.g., Datadog).
  • Prior experience in payments or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Azure DevOps.
