Junior High/High School In-home Tutor (Scottsdale)

Responsibilities: Teachers will go in homes to families to support students and their needs. Each family is different, but responsibilities as a tutor usually include doing homework and going over concepts that they are not getting. Teacher training is provided if necessary.

Hours/Schedule: Tutors are able to make their own hours and schedule with families that have expressed interest in the program. We let tutors know what is needed and they can accept or deny the specific teaching opportunity. For example, a family might be looking for a piano teacher for an hour once a week during after-school hours and we would offer the opportunity to music teachers. We require a semester-long commitment from our tutor, and a signed contract is required. This role allows for tutors to create their own schedule and is a part-time position.

Location Expectations: For this role, we are looking for tutors that are willing to travel to Scottsdale. Teachers must be willing to go and travel in homes. We try to keep locations close, but it is always up to the tutor whether or not they take the teaching opportunity.

Licenses: No license required.

Degree Requirement: Teachers and tutors must have a high school degree. We are seeking a candidate with strong junior high / high school-level math skills as well as proficincy in other core high school academic subjects.

Tutor Experience: Tutors must have previous experience helping others with schoolwork or have a competent understanding of the area they will be tutoring in. We provide training to tutors to help them understand session expectations and their responsibilities.

Teacher Cancellation Policy: If you plan to be out of town or are sick, please let us know as soon as possible. We can help you reschedule your lesson with the family/student you are tutoring or find a substitute for you if needed.

Compensation for Tutors: $30/hour
