About Us

Kuei Luck Early Childhood Center operates multiple schools throughout New York City. As we continue to grow, we are working to standardize the interior design identity across all campuses based on a recently completed flagship location. We are seeking a Junior Interior Designer to help us document, scale, and implement our model design at other schools through detailed documentation and practical design coordination.

Position Summary

We’re looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Junior Interior Designer to help us:

  • Create a corporate interior design lookbook that documents finishes, fixtures, furniture, color palettes, millwork details, and key design elements from our model school
  • Apply our model design standards to refresh and facelift older campuses
  • Produce basic technical drawings, elevations, and renderings for contractors, fabricators, and internal teams to work from

This role requires both creative design sense and practical skills in documentation and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate our flagship school's design into a replicable corporate lookbook (with photos, finishes, dimensions, and layout guidance)
  • Create mood boards and specification sheets for lighting, paint, furniture, materials, and fixtures
  • Develop technical drawings and elevations for built-ins, cubbies, cabinetry, and millwork
  • Provide measured plans and sketches for cosmetic upgrades at existing campuses
  • Coordinate with vendors, carpenters, and contractors to ensure build-outs match intent
  • Conduct site visits (as needed) to measure, photograph, and assess design needs
  • Organize all design files and assets for ongoing use across future campuses

Qualifications

  • Degree or coursework in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other drafting software
  • Working knowledge of producing construction-ready drawings and elevations
  • Experience documenting finishes and design standards into cohesive packages
  • Ability to read and annotate shop drawings and architectural plans
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience in educational or commercial design environments is a plus
