Junior IT Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Junior IT Specialist to support our organization’s technological operations and ensure the delivery of reliable, secure, and efficient IT services. This role is responsible for providing high-quality end-user support, administering Active Directory, maintaining network systems, and contributing to broader IT infrastructure improvements. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • End-User Support

o Provide timely and professional technical assistance to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

o Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, and related IT peripherals.

o Deliver user guidance and support to ensure productive and secure use of company systems.

  • Active Directory & Systems Administration

o Manage Active Directory, including user account creation, deactivation, permissions, and group policy administration.

o Support identity and access management processes to ensure proper security controls.

o Assist with system updates, patch management, and routine maintenance of IT systems.

  • Network & Infrastructure Support

o Perform basic LAN/WAN troubleshooting and assist with the configuration of switches, routers, and firewalls.

o Monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and escalate or resolve problems promptly.

o Contribute to infrastructure upgrades, security improvements, and system optimization projects.

  • IT Operations & Coordination

o Support IT onboarding/offboarding workflows to ensure seamless system access and equipment readiness.

o Maintain inventory of IT assets, ensuring accurate documentation and lifecycle management.

o Collaborate with IT team members to implement new technologies and ensure adherence to organizational standards and best practices.


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of technical support, troubleshooting, and end-user assistance.
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory, identity management, and Windows server environments.
  • Solid understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with network diagnostics and resolving connectivity issues.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


Education & Experience

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure operations.
  • Familiarity with IT asset management tools and ticketing systems is preferred.
  • Industry certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, etc.) are a plus.
