Junior Medical Officer

The Junior Medical Officer is responsible for mediating the Medical Administration’s assignments pertaining to operational execution, incident management, legal inquiries, documents initiation and review, continuous quality improvement, planning and participation in relevant educational activities, orientation of newly joining staff, following up and auditing new projects and clinical programs, and performing any other relevant task assigned by the Medical Administration.

Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards

  • Directs and coordinates investigations of medical departments’ incidents and follows on the corrective and preventive measures.
  • Reviews and acts on improvement of key medical performance indicators
  • Evaluates patients' medical records as part of investigations, documentation audits, or legal inquiries
  • Initiates and/or revises medical informed consents
  • Conducts regular visits to the clinical units to verify compliance with best practices as per hospital policies or national legislation
  • Actively participates in medical departments’ quality initiatives, risk management and other activities as required and assigned.
  • Participates in the planning, development, coordination, and presentation of specific training and educational programs as appropriate to the improvement needs.
  • Assistant in initiation and reviewing Medical Administration’s related policies and procedures, keeping in mind accreditation standards, professional consideration, Country’s laws and regulations.
  • Participates in medical departments’ meetings related to quality, safety and other operational matters as assigned by the Medical Administration
  • Assists in the development of the Medical Administration’s operational plan, and follows up its timely execution
  • Promotes inclusive health by working on initiatives to provide equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
  • Orients and overseas new medical administration staff for their job functions as assigned by the Medical Director.
  • Delegated by the Medical Administration to supervise and follow up the progress of assigned projects and clinical programs and performs required audits as assigned
  • Performs any job-related duties arising due to additional department functions as required and assigned by the Medical Director.
  • Working Condition: Able to withstand stressful environment.
Qualifications, Competences and Skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Health Care Profession)
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in healthcare field
Licensure: Not applicable
Language: Proficiency in English Languages. (Arabic language added advantages)
Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and on SPSS-Optional
