We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Planner to join our high-rise construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules, preparing regular progress reports, and supporting project management through effective planning and documentation. This role is ideal for an emerging professional looking to advance their career in construction planning within the commercial real estate sector.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject SchedulingDevelop and maintain detailed project schedules for high-rise construction activities using industry-standard software (Primavera P6, MS Project)

Create work breakdown structures (WBS) and establish logical sequence of construction activities

Monitor critical path activities and identify potential schedule impacts

Coordinate with various trades and stakeholders to ensure schedule accuracy

Perform schedule updates and analyze variances against baseline schedules

Reporting & DocumentationDaily Reports: Prepare comprehensive daily progress reports including weather conditions, workforce count, equipment utilization, and work completed

Weekly Reports: Generate detailed weekly progress summaries highlighting achievements, delays, and upcoming milestones

Monthly MIS Reports: Compile monthly Management Information System reports with KPIs, progress analytics, and trend analysis

Create visual progress presentations using charts, graphs, and dashboards

Project SupportAssist in resource planning and allocation across multiple construction phases

Track and report on project milestones and deliverables

Identify potential risks and delays, proposing mitigation strategies

Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors

Maintain project documentation and filing systems

Required QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

10-12 years of experience in construction planning, preferably in high-rise projects

Proven experience in project scheduling and progress reporting

Technical SkillsProficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar)

Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

Knowledge of construction methodologies and sequences

Understanding of critical path method (CPM) scheduling

Experience with construction management software and reporting tools

Key CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Understanding of construction contracts and specifications

Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes

Preferred QualificationsExperience with high-rise or complex construction projects

Professional certification (PMI, AACE, or similar)

Knowledge of Lean Construction principles

Experience with dashboard creation and data visualization tools
