Job Description — Junior Business Analyst / QA Engineer

About the Role
We are hiring a motivated Junior Business Analyst / QA Engineer who can support both requirement analysis and software quality assurance activities. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and has a strong attention to detail, with the ability to understand business needs and ensure that delivered features meet the expected quality standards.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants hands-on experience in both Business Analysis and Quality Assurance, eventually growing into a Product Owner, Senior BA, or SQA Lead role.

Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis (BA) Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
• Prepare BRDs, SRS, user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflow diagrams.
• Assist in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and requirement clarification.
• Create process flows, wireframes, and feature documentation.
• Coordinate between product, development, and QA teams to ensure requirement alignment.
• Participate in UAT planning, execution, and feedback tracking.

Quality Assurance (QA) Responsibilities

• Convert requirement documents into detailed test cases and test scenarios.
• Execute functional, UI, regression, and cross-browser testing for web/mobile apps.
• Log defects with clear steps, screenshots, and impact details.
• Verify bug fixes and perform retesting/smoke testing.
• Validate APIs using Postman (basic GET/POST/PUT/DELETE).
• Perform sanity testing before release deployment.
• Assist in test planning, test coverage analysis, and QA reporting.
• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Basic knowledge of writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
• Ability to design test cases and understand QA concepts.
• Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman).
• Familiarity with workflow tools, and diagramming tools (Draw.io, Microsoft Visio).
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• Basic understanding of databases (SQL/Mongo) and simple queries.
• Exposure to automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) is a plus.
• Ability to write basic scripts is a plus.
