Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in executing procurement operations for materials, equipment, and subcontracted services in alignment with project schedules, budgets, and specifications.
- Prepare and send Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to approved suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring accuracy of quantities, descriptions, and delivery requirements.
- Receive, review, and tabulate supplier quotations for technical compliance, price competitiveness, and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate with project engineers, site personnel, and planning teams to verify material requirements and specifications.
- Support in preparing and issuing Purchase Orders (POs) after obtaining necessary approvals, ensuring all terms and conditions are accurately captured.
- Follow up with vendors to confirm order acknowledgment, manufacturing progress, dispatch, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain updated records of RFQs, quotations, POs, material deliveries, and supplier correspondence in a structured filing system.
- Update procurement tracking logs and highlight any potential delays or discrepancies to the Procurement Engineer or Manager.
- Assist in the registration and qualification of suppliers to expand and maintain a reliable vendor database.
- Verify delivery notes, material receipts, and invoices against purchase orders to ensure accuracy before payment processing.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement procedures, ethical practices, and company financial controls.
- Conduct periodic market research to identify competitive suppliers and evaluate cost-saving opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide administrative and reporting support to the procurement department for audits, reviews, and management reporting.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Supply Chain / Procurement Management.
- 1–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or materials coordination within the construction or engineering industry (GCC experience preferred).
- Familiarity with construction materials, consumables, and equipment used in Civil, Structural, and MEP disciplines.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); knowledge of ERP or procurement systems is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation discipline.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
- Organized, proactive, and able to handle multiple procurement activities under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of Bahrain’s procurement and customs clearance procedures is preferred.
- Positive attitude, teamwork spirit, and willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic construction environment.
