Junior Quantity Surveyor - Civil and MEP

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope of work.
  • Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs.
  • Develop cost plans, estimates, and tender documents.
  • Evaluate contractor quotations and prepare comparative statements.
  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure costs remain within approved budgets.
  • Assess and certify contractors’ interim payment applications.
  • Prepare and evaluate variation orders and cost impact assessments.
  • Manage contractual claims, extensions of time, and dispute documentation.
  • Conduct site visits to verify progress and completed work quantities.
  • Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and contractors on cost-related matters.
  • Assist in final account preparation and project close-out documentation.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2-3years of experience in quantity surveying within construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts (FIDIC knowledge is an advantage).
  • Experience in cost control, contract administration, and commercial management.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and quantity surveying software (e.g., CCS, Plan Swift, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
