Brooksource's energy client is seeking early-career Software Engineers to join a newly formed product team supporting the rapid growth of their solar business. This team will focus on building internal applications and tools that help drive operational efficiency, analytics, and profitability across the organization.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 0-2 years of professional experience who is passionate about software development, enjoys solving problems, and is eager to learn from experienced engineers in a highly collaborative environment.


The team is looking for individuals with strong programming fundamentals and a willingness to learn. While experience with their technology stack is a plus, they are open to candidates who have demonstrated success learning new technologies through coursework, internships, projects, or professional experience.


What You'll Do:

  • Develop and maintain software applications that support internal business operations and data-driven decision making
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver new features and enhancements
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Support application development efforts across the full software development lifecycle
  • Assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues
  • Work with databases and backend systems to support application functionality
  • Contribute to front-end development efforts and user-facing application features
  • Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and team collaboration activities
  • Learn new technologies and development practices while growing your technical skillset
  • Take ownership of assigned work while actively seeking feedback and mentorship


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 0-2 years of software development experience (internships, co-ops, personal projects, and professional experience all considered)
  • Experience with at least one programming language such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, C++, or similar
  • Strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving abilities
  • Exposure to SQL or relational databases
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
  • Experience working on technical projects through coursework, internships, research, or personal projects
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to Microsoft technologies such as .NET, .NET Core, or C#
  • Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases
  • Exposure to React or modern front-end development frameworks
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Internship, co-op, research, open-source, or personal project experience
  • Recent graduates and early-career professionals are encouraged to apply
