We're looking for a talented Junior UX/UI Designer to help create impactful digital experiences for the state of Texas and contribute to building our growing UX design and research program. You'll design intuitive interfaces, collaborate on requirements, wireframes, and prototypes, and iterate based on feedback—all while learning from experienced teammates. We're seeking a passionate Junior UX/UI Designer who's eager to understand user needs, behaviors, and motivations. In this collaborative role, you'll balance business goals with user advocacy, delivering value through thoughtful, iterative design. You'll work closely with UX/UI designers and the web team to contribute new features, extend our design system, and apply accessibility best practices. You're comfortable discussing big-picture requirements with stakeholders, diving into technical details with developers, and documenting user patterns and design decisions. Our ideal candidate is excited to help build and shape our UX program, thrives in ambiguity, and brings a proactive mindset to drive clarity and support informed decision -making. Essential Duties:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis OR related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Experience: 3 years of experience in Interface design, Information architecture, User mobile design and/or web site design and production (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Background in graphic design is a bonus
